Blowout for Bob Hairstyle

This is currently a staple hair routine for me! Learning to use a round brush has totally changed my hair! I used to just use a vented brush to dry my hair, and then I would go back in with the hair straightener. I was always battling frizz! I would blow my hair dry and then use the flat iron to try to tame the frizz, which never totally worked. In fact, it probably just made it worse because I was frying it with the flat iron. Anyway, this blowout routine has saved me from all of that!

July Instagram Round-Up

Hey guys! It is time today to post my July Instagram Round-Up. I am so behind on blog posts, so I am posting a whole bunch today to get caught up!

This is a photo showing my 9 month pixie grow-out! At this time I was feeling very satisfied with the growth and change I was noticing!

As you can see by my shirt, this was the Fourth of July! This was a fun cute style that wore well outside all day. It kept my hair out of my face, which is a must for me if I will be outside or super active throughout the day.

I compiled this photo because I had been receiving requests to see progress of my hair growth. Isn't this satisfying to look at? I wish I could have shown more sides of my hair, but it was just too many pictures!

I am so in love with this style! Can you say summer?

This is a photo that I took just after getting my hair trimmed. I was in desperate need of a cut and it felt amazing to get it back into shape!

One morning getting ready for work, I wanted to try something a little different. I tried this double braid and I loved it!

This is a simple style that I wore as I was trying to just get one more day out of my curls! I teased it up big and added a little side french braid.

I've been wanting to try this style for so long, but my hair wasn't quite long enough. It finally is long enough to work! When I posted this on Instagram, I cannot believe how many requests I got for a tutorial, so that will definitely be coming up!

Do I have to say one more time how much I am loving buns?!

I love trying fun things with my hair, but I just wanted to show that a pretty blow-out is beautiful, too!

Get Ready With Me

I used to post lots of makeup tutorials on my YouTube channel, and most of those are no longer up on my channel. My very first love and reason for starting YouTube in the first place was hair! With such heavy saturation of Beauty Vloggers, I decided to take my channel back toward hair. While I am enjoying that so much, I want to continue filming some more relaxed Get Ready With Me style videos. I know that I have some viewers that prefer makeup videos and some that prefer hair videos. This is a way for me to get a little bit of makeup action in there. I also just enjoy talking to you all about some new products that I love and things like that! Let me know what you think about this style of video!

Top Knot for Short Hair

This is a really easy go-to look for me. I always get lots of compliments and people asking me how to do it. I think people just think it is more complicated than it actually is!

June 2016 Instagram Round-Up

Hello, there! I am so horrible at blogging, but I really want to make more of an effort to keep this up. I should have more time available in the future to make that happen! Here is my very late June Instagram Round-Up. Make sure you follow me there for current posts!

The fun bun, top knot, whatever you want to call it is a huge favorite of mine! Don't we all love a good bun and now that my hair is long enough to enjoy it, I am taking full advantage!

This is another favorite that is super quick and I always get lots of compliments when I wear it! I think it just looks a bit more fancy than it actually is! Large Dutch Braid Tutorial

I found this gorgeous rose gold headband at Walmart. I love when I find great things in unexpected places. As I am typing this I am thinking that I need to find another cute style to incorporate this headband!

For some reason this hairstyle just looks like summer to me! I love the braid in combination with the fishtail braid!

I decided to  come up with this style because I am seeing so many long-haired gals wearing dutch braid pigtails. This is my version for short hair! Pigtail Dutch Braid Tutorial

Another fun bun!! Fun Bun Tutorial

This photo was taken the day after I had curled my hair. The waves had relaxed out and I was left with this beautiful soft wave.

Sometimes I want to try a new hairstyle, but I don't have tons of time to mess with my hair before work. This one was so simple to do and I got lots of compliments on it!

This is a compilation of all of my most liked photos on Instagram. I thought this was so fun to see! It also helps me to see what you guys are enjoying from me!

How I Style my Bob From Wet to Dry

I've been getting several requests on social media to show how I style my hair. I know that I use a lot of products, but I only wash my hair once or twice a week. Using all of these products help my hair to stay moisturized and volumized for most of the week making it super quick and easy to style my hair each day.

May 2016 Instagram Round-Up

I thought it would be really fun to do a big post at the end of every month showing the different hairstyles that I shared on Instagram throughout the month, so here it is.
This is a simple fishtail braid. This is one of my most worn hairstyles recently because it is so easy and cute. Here is a link to this hair tutorial: Fishtail Braid for Short Hair

I love this wavy look and it's so great for any length of hair! Here is a link to this tutorial: Beachy Waves for Short Hair

I've been wearing my bangs with a big ol' poof since Junior High School. I guess some things will never change!
I love this double braid so much! I will be doing a hair tutorial for this soon, so be on the look-out!

This waterfall braid is super quick and easy and I love that is helps keep my bangs out of my eyes! Here is a link to this tutorial: Waterfall Braid Tutorial

This is another one of my favorite casual hairstyles that I have found myself wearing over again! I will also be making a tutorial for this fun bun!

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a simple straight blown out look!

I love adding a tight braid the shorter side of my hair because I think it adds a bit of an edgy look.

This last one is a 360 look at my grow-out progress. I am 8 months in and pretty happy with my hair's progress!

Growing Out a Pixie Undercut

After having a pixie cut for three years, I finally decided that it was time to grow it out. I had enjoyed having my pixie cut very much, but I just needed a change. Having such short hair, my only option for something new was to go through the dreadful growing process to get longer locks. I got a haircut in September of 2015 and I decided to cut my hair into a shorter pixie than I had been wearing. I just wanted one last taste of the pixie life. I ended up not loving this style on myself and so I was even more sure of my decision to grow my hair. Here is a shot of what my short crop looked like.
You can see how short my hair was on the left side. I had an undercut that went all the way around my head and then the top was longer. I began letting my hair grow. I have grown a pixie before, so I was well aware of all of the awkward stages that would be in my future. Because I had the undercut, I didn't need to get it trimmed. Normally getting frequent trims throughout growing is essential to avoid the 'mullet' style, but because my hair was pretty much buzzed it took a long time for it to get very long. I was able to let it grow for 7 months before getting a proper trim. As I got closer to deciding to go to my stylist for a proper shape-up, I just had my husband trim the 'mullet' on my neck with his beard trimmer. It worked great and saved me a $35 haircut.

When I finally decided to get a haircut, I had no idea how my hairstylist was going to make my hair look any better. The top had gotten very long and the undercut was growing too, but it was still so much shorter than the top layers! Somehow, my hairstylist is magical and gave me a beautiful style that no longer feels as though I am growing out my pixie. We decided to put an undercut at the bottom of my neck because my hair is extra thick there for some reason. This hairstyle is great for growing a pixie undercut, but I would actually wear this hairstyle even if I wasn't growing my hair!
I hope you enjoyed my little 'growing a pixie' story and I will be posting more updates as they happen!
